Walstrom Marine Receives Multiple Michigan Boating Industry Association (MBIA) Awards

Walstrom Marine is proud to announce that Tom Ervin was officially inducted into the Michigan Boating Industry Association (MBIA) Hall of Fame during the organization’s Annual Awards Dinner held in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on December 6, 2025.
This distinguished honor recognizes Tom’s long-standing contributions to the Michigan boating industry and his leadership at Walstrom Marine since joining the company in 2016. Under his guidance, Walstrom Marine has expanded its brand portfolio, strengthened its service capabilities, and grown its presence throughout the state.
In addition to Tom’s induction, two Walstrom Marine Service Technicians were also honored by the MBIA at the awards dinner:
- Brian Johnson – Outstanding Technician Award
- Recognized for exceptional technical expertise, dedication to quality service, and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Cody Beach – Marine Technician New Achiever Award
- Recognized for impressive professional growth, strong work ethic, and promise as an emerging leader in the marine service field.
The Michigan Boating Industry Association’s recognition highlights the dedication, professionalism, and passion that drive our entire team. The MBIA Hall of Fame honors those who have left a meaningful mark on recreational boating in Michigan, and Tom’s induction places him among an esteemed group of leaders who have influenced the future of boating throughout the Great Lakes.

Walstrom Marine was founded by Ward Walstrom Sr. and Paul Griffeth when they acquired Melching Garage and Boat Works in 1946. In the last 79 years, Walstrom Marine has grown to become the leading boat dealer in Northern Michigan, with five dealership locations, marinas in Harbor Springs and Algonac, and storage and service facilities in Harbor Springs, Charlevoix, Traverse City and Cheboygan.
