U-Boat Worx, the world leader in private manned submersibles, has dispatched its revolutionary Super Sub to Curaçao, where it will undergo final sea trials and validation dives ahead of delivery to its owner.
The Super Sub represents a new era of underwater performance. With a top speed of 9 knots, it is the fastest submarine ever built for private use, offering an unparalleled blend of power, agility, and panoramic visibility. The Curaçao testing program will validate the sub’s systems under real-world tropical conditions, ensuring flawless operation before handover.
“Transporting the Super Sub to Curaçao marks the final stage of an incredible engineering journey,” said Wilbert Beilsma, Commercial Director of U-Boat Worx. “Our team has poured years of innovation into this project, and seeing it dive in the crystal-clear Caribbean waters (where we also train our pilots) will be a proud milestone for everyone involved.”
In Curaçao, the submersible will complete a comprehensive test campaign including performance runs, maneuverability trials, and safety verifications, all supervised by U-Boat Worx field specialists and engineers. Once approved by DNV, the Super Sub will be delivered to its new owner, setting a new benchmark for personal underwater exploration.
With its hydrodynamic design, and unmatched comfort, the Super Sub is not only the fastest sub in its class but also the most advanced. Designed to move with the grace of a marine creature, it offers an exhilarating yet serene experience, diving up to 300 meters deep in complete comfort.
The Super Sub features a sleek droplet-shaped hull and advanced wing configurations, making it one of the most hydrodynamic submersibles ever crafted. Its propulsion system, with four proprietary in-house-engineered thrusters, delivers a total of 100 kW. This high-performance system allows for exhilarating steep 45-degree climbs and impressive inclined underwater manoeuvres, offering an experience unlike any other.
Its interior is designed with meticulous attention to detail, combining cutting-edge technology with premium craftsmanship. Two passengers and a pilot enjoy spacious and ergonomic seating with a five-point harness system, not merely a feature for show but a vital safety measure for handling the sub’s high-speed manoeuvres. The panoramic ultra-clear acrylic hull delivers 360-degree views, immersing passengers in the underwater world with unparalleled clarity and comfort.
