PlasDECK, Inc., the industry leader of synthetic teak boat decking, is located in Akron, Ohio, where they manufacture high quality PVC boat decks. PlasDECK creates a superior product made with a high-grade polymer that is designed to last, all made and produced in the USA.
The decking installation on this 23 Everglades CC features one of PlasDECK’s innovative products, the ECO Series. PlasDECK ECO Series has the same look and feel as classic PlasDECK boat decking, and it is made of the same top-notch patented flexible PVC, which contains the best possible ingredients. The difference is that the ECO Series boat decking has a black base layer that is made from recycled PlasDECK material. Leftovers and cut-offs of PlasDECK are saved at the factory and this material is reground and co-extruded to make ECO Series decking, which contains about 60% of this regrind. This environmentally-friendly material helps close the loop in the manufacturing processing, minimizing waste. The top of the ECO decking is made of the same virgin material as traditional PlasDECK and has exactly the same look.
The use of recycled material also lowers material cost. This savings is passed on to ECO Series customers, offering them a high-quality boat flooring at a competitive price. PlasDECK Eco Series is the perfect option for any cost-conscious boat decking installers, from boat builders to boat owners.
Because of this black bottom layer, the ECO Series has a Reveal option that can be engraved, like on this awesome 23 Everglades CC. This is similar to the process used on foam flooring products, but the PlasDECK material is much more resilient. The custom deck on this Everglades features a honeycomb pattern and has fish rulers built in to measure catches. ECO Reveal decks can include borders, patterns, custom inlays, and more.
PlasDECK ECO Series is also DIY friendly for people who like hands-on projects. PlasDECK has the tools, videos, and friendly customer service to help you every step of the way. A Do-It-Yourselfer can make a template of the boat deck (or provide a CAD drawing) and send that to PlasDECK, where it is digitized by designers and made into a drawing that will show the final layout of the deck. Once the design is approved, the decking panels are built to the exact shape and size of the deck. They arrive ready to be installed. Glue is troweled out, the panels are laid down, and the decking is smoothed with a floor roller. PlasDECK does have a Peel & Stick backing that can be added to smaller pieces, but glue is recommended for maximum adhesion.
PlasDECK ECO Series is also available in rough sheets that can be built in any 6-inch increments. The top of the decking has exactly the same look as traditional caulk-lined PlasDECK, and the sheets are cut to the shape and size of the deck by the customer.
With so many options, the possibilities are endless with PlasDECK.
