Formula 270 Bowrider

The Formula 270 Bowrider is the only boat in class that can be powered by the engine maker that has won 19 Indianapolis 500s and countless Formula 1 checkered flags overseas. Ilmor Marine builds its engines with the same expertise and precision that its parent company (owned and led by Roger Penske) put into those car-racing engines. Our test boat was powered by a 430-hp Ilmor MV8 6.2L engine with a sterndrive that has a hydraulic clutch that shifts so smoothly it must be experienced. The engine has a 5-year, 500-hour warranty, which is unheard of in high-performance marine applications.
